Sunday Game Day
The kids love the Wormy Apples game we got from the Schultz family for Christmas. Thank you Ev & Jim! We try to play lots of games to help the kids realize that you can not always be the winner. Sometimes you have to switch apples or lose turns that is just how life goes. Cort is getting so much better at not throwing fits when he is not winning. Grace, well she will get there soon.

Merry Christmas!
Well, Christmas morning has come (as you can see in the first picture) and gone (as you see the second picture). The kids has so much fun! Grace was so excited when she opened her Skywishes pony this morning, she has been talking with her and packing her all over. Cort is opening a book that he fell in love with at the library in Fairbanks, Flotsam by David Wiesner. If you have not seen this book yet it is a must. There were so many pictures to choose from, I only put one of each of the kids. It could have been much worse. Have a Merry Christmas and stay safe. God Bless.

Christmas Eve 2007
Our Christmas Eve Tradition is Pizza, thanks to the Stewart side of the family. We have tweaked it a little by having home made pizza. Then it was back to a Zimmer tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve. Cort Chose to open the biggest present under the tree, Grandma and Grandpa Stewart sent the biggest one. It was a truck with a camper and about 100 little pieces, Thanks Grandma Sandy. Grace fell in love with the green Rudolph paper on the gift from the Billings Stewarts. As soon as she had the sweat suit opened, she had to try it on. Antie Tara has great taste! Thank you Shane, Tara, Sayler & Blake. Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Stewart. Merry Christmas!
High Tide
This morning we went to check out the beach. When we got there the water was super high. So we did not get to find much but a lot of sea weed. Cort said "the sea is angry today". We had to hurry home so that Frank could get some sleep, he has to work tonight. Someone has to report the weather to Santa. I think the kids and I are going to try to go back while the tide is going out.

Box Fun!
The kids were having fun with a box that had Christmas presents in it. They did not even mind that they could not see what came in the box. Cort had decided that the box was a plane. He named it "Flying Shark A618". Shortly after I took the picture Dad and Cort went to work on the plane. I will have to get some pictures of it tomorrow.

Winter Wonderland
This morning we woke up to 3 inches of snow. It was so pretty. The kids could not get outside fast enough! Frank went out with them and made them some snowballs. It did not take long for them to start throwing the snow at Dad. You can even see Grace's snowball as it hits Frank. The good thing with Grace's snowballs is that after it hits the ground she just picks it up and uses it again. That is how soft she throws. Grace and Frank made a baby snowman with a little hat made of snow. Grace was very proud of her baby snowman.

Life's a beach!
Today we went to the beach so Dad could have a quiet house to sleep in. The explorer bags that Peg made the kids are GREAT for the beach. They can put what ever they want in them, then if need be I just throw them in the washer. The star fish was a great find. Cort had fun checking him out. Grace wanted the shell in front of her, but she did not want to touch it. She is such a girl. I love the 40 degree weather for December! Today was in the low 40's the kids didn't even wear their gloves. However, the last two days we had a lot of rain and a wind advisory. Well you take the good with the not so good!

Busy Bikers
The kids spent all afternoon in the driveway on their bikes and in the trees having fun. You notice how Cort has his action pack on, he will not go outside without it on. He has it full of things he needs for his missions. I asked him what we should get the Grandmas for Christmas, he said they need back packs. I told him that we might be able to think of something better. Sorry Mom and Sandy, I am not sending you back packs for Christmas.

Oh, Christmas Tree
Wow today was a fun filled day! Frank ended up having the day off, so we went out to find a Christmas tree on the island. The first thing we found was a new beach to explore. I am sorry mom, I left the camera in the truck. We were there for at least an hour. The tide was out and there were little tide pools everywhere. Cort and Grace got to see: minnows swimming, a live clam, dead crabs, and lots of barniclkes. Then we did some shooting at the beach, Cort made us wait and stand in back so he could shoot his (toy)army gun. Then it was back to the tree hunt. While Frank and I were busy looking at possible trees the kids had a blast breaking the crusty ice on the mud puddles. We ended up finding a great scrub pine tree. Grace loved using the step stool while she was decorating. Wow, this has been a wonderful day!

GEO Trax
After weeks of Cort asking if he could get his boxes of GEO Trax out, I gave in and lugged in two and a half boxes of GEO Trax. He is totally enjoying them! I am not looking forward to telling him to put them all back in the boxes tonight. He has so many that the only place he can set them up is in the living room. I am sorry Cort , I am not going to decorate my living room in GEO Trax. I know that I will have to come up with something better. Maybe once a week we can pull them out? Cort and I will have to discuss this further.

Special Protection
Cort decided that all of the bubble strips from a Wal*Mart box would be a special protection armer. This would protect my little rescue hero from missiles, bombs, fire, bullets, he said that nothing could get through it. Grace played with for about 10 min. long enough to make a bracelet with her bubbles. Cort played with it all afternoon.

Pony Heaven
My little girl is enjoying all of the space in her room. She can have her pony things out and Cort won't bother her. Sometimes I walk in her room and I just have to laugh at what she has found to put on. Maybe I should get a dress up box for her. With Cort it is hard to keep him inside, with Grace you have to beg her to go outside. Amazing how different two kids can be!

Army Practice
This morning Cort was busy "Practicing Army". He was so cute! Every once in a while I would hear "It's not good, not good, lets go Grace". Like a true sister she would follow her big brother. He was so helpful when they were climbing in the front yard "jungle". That's right, the pictures were taken in our front yard. Man I love living here.

Nap time
As you can see we were all tired today. Good thing Grace was there to make sure that Daddy did not get cold while he was napping with Belinda, the doll. I would like to say that everything is close to done, but my mom told me never to lie. I got most of the kitchen stuff IN the kitchen, that is what I did for the day. Maybe tomorrow I can get another room done or close to done.

It's Here!
We have been without all of our stuff since October 29th when the packers took it all away. Then our beloved things got into Ketchikan on November 8th. Amazing how things can go from Fairbanks to Anchorage across the Gulf of Alaska all the way to Ketchikan in the same amount of time it took it to go 17 miles(Ketchikan to Metlakatla). I am so glad to be in this mess of boxes, and now I will not have to hear Cort say,"When will our stuff be here?".
I don't know why I was so excited about getting all of this stuff back? I only wanted the "good stuff", you know, my stuff. I could have gone a few years without all of the kid toys and hunting, fishing, camping stuff. Sorry Frank, I do love you!
A Day at the beach
Today we went exploring on the Soutwest end of the the island. We went as far as the road would take us. When we got home we got out the map and discovered we were at Pt Davison. The wind was strong and COLD! That did not stop Cort he would have stayed out all day. We went at low tide in hopes of finding some neat tide pools. No such luck, we will have to keep searching.

All Roads lead to Metlakatla
We had quite a trip from Fairbanks to Haines. We had to make some pit stops in the snow. When we got to Haines it was like it was late August again.
