Shipwrecked

The other day we went for a boat ride and in one of the bays there were 4 abandoned boats. Strange? The shore looked pretty buggy. I did tell Frank that I would like to explore on shore during low tide some day. It is amazing the things that you can find on the shore. Frank has been loving his new toy! How did we ever get by without a boat?

Maiden Voyage

This morning we took the new boat out on the water for the fist family trip. Everyone had a lot of fun, Frank most of all. We even tried trolling for some salmon with no luck. The kids were having fun finding Jelly fish. Big orange ones and little white ones. Frank is ready to hit the water tomorrow with his buddy, Brad, after work tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day, Frank

Frank is so sneaky. He was going to go and get my car in Fairbanks today, things change and he was not able to go. So my wonderful husband asked me if we should go and spend the day in Ketchikan. I thought that would be really nice. Well, we got to town and Frank said he needed to do some things at the bank. You know, like signing papers for a boat. So I guess it is ok that I did not get his Father's day gift, he took care of the gift for me:) The boys are so excited! They can't wait for a sunny day. The boat is a Boston Whaler, Frank tells me you could saw it in half and it would still float. I guess it is filled with foam, there are so many things Frank has been telling me about the boat. I told him, "you have the boat you don't have to talk me into getting the boat". Like I said he is so excited to get it out and find some salmon and halibut.

Grace Bleeding the poke. Sometimes it can be tricky to get enough blood, so Mom or Dad will need to help.

Lastly Grace trying to test the blood. I ended up doing the testing, the test strips are tricky. We tell Cort how to strong Grace is to do all of the pokes and shots. Cort will say,"She is not as strong as me". So he was going to try to do a poke, He sat there with the poker on his finger for about 10 min, then he looked at me and said,"I just can't bring myself to do it". I told he it was ok, if he wants to try another day he could.

Fun in the Sun!

We had a sunny afternoon today. The rain was here in the morning and gone by 2:00 in the afternoon. It may look like they are dancing to Grace's song, not the case. Grace is a flute fighter pilot in Star Wars. Cort is using his darts to go after her. Grace really did not care what Cort was talking about, she was just having fun with her flute.

Bathtime Gracie

I put Grace in the tub the other night and then went to do something else. When I remembered the water was running, I went running. When I got to the bathroom this is what I saw. Grace told me she was not mad at me for forgetting to turn the water off. She is so forgiving.

Just beachy

My camera has been sitting on the shelf for about a week. So, I had to go into my old pictures to find something new. I am like my friend Peg, I do not like to blog with out pictures. The top picture Grace got tired of carrying her bucket, so dad is helping out. The bottom picture is a baby sunflower star fish. It is only about the size of my hand. It looks so much bigger in the picture. Full grown they will get to about 36 inches in diameter. They have 20 legs, if you are trying to count them:)

It has been busy here and I hope to start getting more pictures soon.
